Bloom Quilt Sew A Long
We are starting a fun block of the month / sew along project and making this stunning quilt by Treehouse Textiles.
“The Bloom Quilt is a bright, contemporary & modern quilt. The large appliqué pieces make it very quick and easy to sew.
The Bloom Quilt is a great project for beginners, or anyone looking for a fun, simple, and cheerful quilt.”
You will be making this quilt over 5 months and the size will be 64” x 64”. With this block it is easy to make your quilt larger if you would like.
You have three colour way options to choose from
Reds and Creams - of course with French General fabrics as well as others to make this classic colour way.
Blues and Creams - featuring Laundry Basket fabrics as well as others to make this classic colour way.
Combination - featuring fun fabrics with a touch of whimsy, florals, ginghams and each block will have fabric from the Poppy Seeds range by Laundry Basket Quilts.
What you will get each month -
You will get the full pattern in Month One
I will include a template for the block and the individual bloom shapes made with my favourite method.
Each month you will make 12 blocks and have the fabric for the background and the bloom for each block
Your last month will include the binding for your quilt
Cost $55-00 per month
Methods used to make this quilt
I love love love needle turn applique and this is the method I have used. This quilt is a perfect project to learn or practice this technique.
If that is not your cup of tea you can also use the iron on leave in applique paper that will give you the needle turn look without actually doing it. If you choose this you will get the paper pack in your first month - $39.90 for the pack.
The other method is using the iron on applique using Steam a Seam Lite and then machine applique onto the background - $18.00 for 1 metre
Whichever method you choose I will include instructions for.
We will be staring this project in the middle of September 2025
