Week 48 - Serenity Plus

Good morning from a crispy frosty Hawkes Bay morning - I am sitting very close to the heater for sure.

This weeks block is a lovely variation on a nine patch and we have added snowballed corners to make this block. It never ceases to amaze me how many changes you can make to a traditional block to make a new design.

In saying that, at times I have wondered if I would find 52 different blocks haha. Of course I have but there has been momentary stress every now and then.

So we have four blocks to go to reach our 52 block target. While I have really enjoyed making these blocks - many I have never made before - I want to turn them into a quilt or a couple of quilts even. I am gifted and making blocks and then putting them away and there they stay.

With next weeks block I will put up some ideas on what you can do and quilt layout options for your blocks. I have chosen my design for the 6” blocks and am still working on what to do with all my 12” blocks. Lets be real, 52 twelve inch blocks will make a large quilt so there may be to option to make a couple of quilts.
